As a starter for the new year I'm going to do a friends cut. I know it may be a bit silly after adding all the new people in the friending frenzies lately but there are a few inactive journals of people (old friends) who never write any blog posts and people who hardly ever comment or people I just don't feel connected to for some reason. I don't really see what is the point in keeping it going. I don't think you guys read my LJ and even if you do I find this kind of one-sided sharing rather odd.

I am going to remove some of the new people as well because there has not been interaction or I feel that we just do not click after all. I bet you're wonderful people but I do not feel comfortable about having LJ friends who never comment or even reply to my comments on their journal posts. That's not how this thing works for me.

In the friending frenzies I always said I prefer quality over quantity and that I hope people only add me if they're really interested in making friends with me. I honestly want to concentrate on the friendships that really exist or have started to bloom and at least some weaving of connection is happening. I do not have any hard feelings about anyone and I don't regret giving it a try but it just did not happen, so that's it.

If you are an old friend and come back to LJ some day, please send me a private message or reply to this post and I will add you back. :)

I think I really do. If you can love a song the first time you hear it or feel enchanted by anything beautiful, touching and wonderful then why not love someone at first sight? I believe that many times we can see each others inner shining & beauty at the very first sight and love it.

I made a  friends cut and unfriended all deleted journals as well as accounts that has been inactive for ages. I also unfriended some people I like but with whom I've never really got connected (who never commented on anything I wrote nor replied to my comments). I prefer to keep this journal for communicating with real friends only as well as people I feel could become real friends. 

New friends are welcome but only if there is a real possibility to become friends and a mutual interest to get to know each other. My other lj kuukiventomu  is more open to casual pals & communication with whoever is interested in fandom stuff or spiritual ponderings.

I decided to make a dreamwidth account for my art & creative musings. I will use my livejournal for personal ponderings..

While reading my fairy book (Cassandra Eason's A Complete Guide to Fairies & Magical Beings) I started to ponder about all the fantasy realms, imaginary lands and faerie places I've ever felt drawn to and there really has been so many...  When I was small and young I used to spend lots of time in my own imaginary worlds inspired by the things I had read about but allthese musings about fantasy worlds and fairie realms have never really left me..

*Nangijala was one of my first loves. The beautiful afterworld of Astrid Lindgren's Bröderna Lejonhjärta (The Lionheart Brothers). I truly loved the two valleys; Cherry Valley and Rose Valley and the kind of medieval atmosphere, campfires, horses and frightening kind of dragons.. When I was small I used to dream about riding horses, without a saddle on the fields & wilderness. And I used to dream about living in the Cherry Valley.. oh how I wished to have my own little house there..

*Narnia was a dream land as well.. All the interesting creatures, talking animals and epic events. I loved especially the fauns. <3

*The Middle Earth, especially Loth Lorien & Rivendel.. I loved the elven places, the trees and forests of the Middle Earth. And the mines of Moria..

*Avalon was different from others.. more real, more connected to this world. I loved the Priestess island of The Mists of Avalon and somehow always felt drawn to Avalon being related to apples.. And the mists.. the old faerie lands deep beyond the mists..

*Finnish author Marjatta Kureniemi was also able to bring so much magic and imaginary places into my childhood. The story about two little girls (Onneli & Anneli) who moved into a house of their own.. a wonderful fairytale like place.. or the fairytales of Unikko (the sister of Sandman) filled my dreams with all kinds of beautiful, enchanted things.. rainbow coloured rivers and flyiong with the dandelion seeds..

*The World(s) of Brian & Wendy Froud, Charles de Lint, Holly Black & Terri Windling introduced me to the faeries who reside here among us.. urban spirits of the ancient creatures.. wings and roots.. fairytales retold.. People who believe. People who know..

* The Faerie of Sandman/DC comics.. strongly drawn inspiration from the MIdsummer night's dream. Titania and Oberon and all the enchantment of the Faerie court.

There is many others too... The Legend, The Last Unicorn, Dark Crystal, Stardust...

It feels like Christmas again! Yesterday I got a letter & Yule gift from tuulenpesa  and today from jademondin . What a wonderful thing! :) Thank you. :)
